The short version
- You can read everything on the public site without giving us anything.
- Your Yes, No, Maybe lists, worksheets and Academy progress stay on your own device. We never see them.
- If you sign up for emails, we keep your email address to send them, and nothing else is required.
- We don't sell your data, we don't run ads, and we don't use tracking or advertising cookies.
What stays on your device
Some features save small amounts of information in your browser's local storage, so they work without an account:
- That you confirmed you are 18 or older, for 30 days, so we don't ask on every page.
- Your answers on the Yes, No, Maybe starter list.
- Which Academy guides you've marked complete.
This information is never sent to us. You can delete it at any time by clearing your browser's site data. Worksheets you fill in on guide pages are not saved at all.
What we collect
Email sign-ups
When you sign up for the seven-day plan, new guides or the founding members' list, we collect your email address. Our email provider, Kit, stores it and sends our emails on our behalf, and records basic delivery information such as whether an email was opened or a link clicked. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your address completely.
Messages you send us
If you email hello@boundbymaster.com, we keep the message to reply and for our records. We don't add you to any list unless you ask.
Technical information
Our website is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes standard technical information such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect the site against abuse. Our fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers when you visit. We do not use analytics or advertising tracking.
Affiliate links
Some links to shops are affiliate links. When you click one, the shop or its affiliate network may place a cookie to record that you came from us, under their own privacy policy. We receive commission information, never your personal details.
Membership
When the members' area opens, we'll need a little more: an account, a payment processed by a specialist payment provider, and a one-time age check by a privacy-first verification provider that does not store images of your ID. We'll update this policy before membership launches, with full details of each provider, and ask for your agreement when you join.
Who we share information with
Only the service providers named above, and only to run the site and send the emails you asked for. We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to report content involving minors to the authorities. We never sell or rent your information.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Messages to us are kept for as long as we need them to help you, and no longer than three years.
Your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe from any email with one click. You can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it or delete it, by writing to hello@boundbymaster.com. Depending on where you live, including California and the EU and UK, you may have additional rights, and we'll honour them.
Adults only
Bound By Master is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll tell subscribers by email.
